In English: That which is private is what is genuinely political.
The slogan summarized the view that not elections and governments are politically most relevant but the modes of personal interaction.
Therefore, the aim was a revolution of personal relationships, emphasizing optimal sexual experience.
Because this is what matters most for each of us: satisfaction.
